Jinja hosts the source of river Nile –The Nile starts its 4000-mile journey to Egypt from Jinja. You can take a boat to the place where the Nile ‘leaves’ Lake Victoria at the now submerged Rippon Falls. It is also in this place that some of the remains of Mahatma Gandhi where sprinkled according to his will – He requested that his remains be splashed in all the major rivers of the world.
