About the trip.
Take a 7 days’ trip to kidepo valley national park one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks located in Uganda’s remote north –eastern corner with 1,442 square kilometers. It’s a home to various wildlife and bird species with a cultural encounter with the Karamojong community learning about their traditional way of life and Uganda’s largest parks known as Murchison Falls National Park, situated in Northwestern Uganda on an area of 3,840 sq. km, gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve. It is classified with Savannah grasslands, and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and southern bank) for boat cruises. The park is home to over 451 bird species and about 76 mammal species.

Day 1: Arrival and hotel Transfer
On arrival, you will be picked by our guide who will escort you to the accommodation booked by our staff where you’ll have your prime night stay. we can have city tour in case you arrived during day or just stay relaxing as you anticipate for the safari road trip to start. Areas to visit on this day may include, Entebbe Wildlife Education Center or Kampala City where you view Kampala Capital Surrounded by seven Hills, Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Museum, and Namugongo Shrine.

Day 2: Kampala-Gulu
After breakfast very early in the morning, you will drive towards Gulu town in Northern Uganda. On the way, we visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary harbors Uganda’s wild endangered rhinos situated in Nakasongola District, near Nakitoma Village, in the north of Kampala along Kampala – Gulu highway approximately 180km by road. It covers around 7,000ha (70 sq. km). It takes about 3 hours to drive there. Ziwa is the only place where you can track rhinos on foot; it is really great and exciting as you watch the white rhinoceros. At this place you can have a rest and lunch break too before proceeding to the journey.
From there, you will have an opportunity to cross river Nile and of course kaluma falls before proceeding to Gulu town for overnight. We stop in Gulu town to break the would be long journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. Check-in at the Hotel, have dinner at the hotel and maybe a nightlife in Gulu city.

Day 3: Gulu-Kidepo Valley National Park
After breakfast very early in the morning, drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. On your way, you will enjoy some scenic views of the few hills that separates Acholi Land and Karamonjo’s homesteads and finally into the valleys of Kidepo national park the most beautiful National park in Uganda in time for Lunch and relaxation.
Later in the evening, we will take you on afternoon game drive into the vast plains of the Kidepo valley national park where you will be able to spot some of parks lions that may be sitting in ‘’sausage treess’’ along the narus valley or on the rocks at the entrance of Apoka park headquarters, the common animals here include Elephants, Zebra, Bush Pigs, Rothschild Giraffes, Eland, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Buffalo, Oribi, Lion, Leopard, Spotted Hyena.

Day 4: Game drive in Narus and Hot springs visit in Kidepo Valley
After a warm cup of tea/coffee, drive to Narus valley to do an extra game drive to trace wildlife that you could have missed the previous game drives done earlier on such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes antelopes, zebras and birds which come to drink water at the narrus. Have an hour-long drive to Kanangorok Hot Springs passes some magnificent landscapes. The park has observation points with binoculars and it will be your pleasure to use one of them.
Return to the Lodge for Lunch, short relaxation and then drive to Kidepo Valley to visit the hot springs, the Uganda-Sudan boarder and if lucky spot the giant Ostriches which are found in this place but have been seriously poached by Sudanese. Chances of spotting big cats hunting are very high as well. If lucky, you may spot the rare cheeters too.

Day 5: Kidepo Valley National park – Murchison Falls National park
After breakfast, you will drive from Kidepo Valley National Park to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy an enroute game drive through the northern section of the park popularly known as Paraa where you will have chances of spotting many mammals and if luck strikes, big cats hunting. Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the, Goliath heron, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a big number of Nile crocodiles and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide.

Day 6: Morning game drive and boat cruise
Wake up very early in the morning, have breakfast and set off for an early morning game drive to get more chance to view animals such as Lions, Hyenas and the rarely seen Leopards still hunting in the morning hours. Murchison Falls National Park is divided by River Nile into the south and northern region. The northern part being largely covered by savannah and woodland has many wild animals. Explore the game trails towards the Lake Albert delta where big game such as the Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, and many Antelopes are seen. The game drive takes about 4 hours then head back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch as you wait for the evening activities.
After lunch go for a 2 hours’ boat cruise across the Victoria Nile and spot animals on the river banks like crocodile, hippos, buffaloes, elephants and antelopes and birds as well drinking and cooling off the heat. As you reach the falls, you notice a lot of huge crocodiles at a place is called “Croc Bar.” It is easy to see the animals at a close and clear encounter for many animals come to drink, bathe, and as well to eat some grass. After you will return to the lodge for overnight and campfire plus dinner

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, you will drive back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight out of Uganda. Along the way, you will stopover for lunch depending on the route you used and also drive to Zziwa Sanctuary to track white Rhinos for an hour’s experience or go to the reptile village.
